about

OFFprojects

OFFprojects is a group consisting of former dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Ensemble, gathered around the work of choreographer and musician Amos Ben-Tal. The group creates multi-disciplinary performances and events using dance, music, text and image. OFFprojects believe in work that is raw and modular, while being challenging and appealing at the same time.

Soon after their launch in 2012 the group gained a reputation for their ‘out of the box’ approach to dance and exceptional performing skills. In March 2014 OFFprojects premiered their first full-evening production OFFline. The show received rave reviews and was soon followed by their second full-length, the equally well received Might. In 2016 the group won the prestigious Dioraphte Dance Prize for their latest production Howl. In its short existence the group has already performed extensively all over The Netherlands as well as in France, England, Germany, Czech Republic and Russia.

The group’s uniqueness is in that every member has a secondary expertise except for dancing, resulting in every aspect of the production being done in-house and forming part of a conceptual whole. Except for Amos the group further consists of Aurélie Cayla (educational activities), Yvan Dubreuil (dramaturgy) and Milena Twiehaus (image). OFFprojects is co-produced by Korzo Theater in The Hague, and since 2018 are also artists-in-residence at ICK Amsterdam.
